LevLUp vs Acuity
Acuity Scheduling is excellent at generic 1:1 appointments — that's also its ceiling. Coaching has quirks that come up the moment you try: two athletes sharing a tumble slot, Venmo as the actual payment method, families needing to be vetted before they can book.
If your business looks like a tutor or massage therapist, Acuity is fine. If it looks like cheer privates, here's where it falls down.
| Feature | LevLUp | Acuity |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | $15/mo Founding Coach (preview) · $20/mo standard | $20–$61/mo by plan |
| Shared-slot pricing (one slot, multiple athletes split the cost) | ✓First-class — coach configures once per session type | Not supported — Acuity treats each booking as 1 person/1 slot |
| Recurring weekly template (per-athlete standing slots) | ✓Per-coach weekly grid, stamp into draft for N weeks | Recurring appointment per client (no grid view) |
| Venmo / Cash App / Zelle reconciliation | ✓Built-in — pay link with reference code, mark-paid workflow | Card processor only (Square / Stripe) |
| Commission / processing fee | ✓0% — you collect directly via your existing apps | Card processor fees (Square/Stripe ~3%) |
| Roster gating (vet families before they book) | ✓Request → coach accepts; public clinics bypass for drop-ins | Limited — needs hacks via custom intake forms |
| Coach-to-coach referrals | ✓One-click refer to another LevLUp coach when you're booked | Not a concept |
| Best for | Coaches with shared-slot pricing, recurring clients, off-platform pay | Solo professionals (massage, tutors, consultants) with 1:1 sessions |
The "Acuity doesn't do this" punch list
- • Shared-slot pricing. Two athletes share a 4pm tumble slot and split the cap. Acuity sees this as "two separate appointments at 4pm" or "one appointment that can only have one attendee."
- • Venmo reconciliation. Acuity wants to charge a card via Square or Stripe. Your families pay you on Venmo. LevLUp sends the Venmo deep link with a reference code; you mark paid when it lands in your bank app.
- • Roster gating. Acuity lets anyone with the link book. LevLUp puts new families through a "request access" step you approve.
- • Recurring weekly template. Acuity does per-client recurring appointments; LevLUp does a per-coach weekly grid you stamp into a draft once per release.
